Unofficial Trailer for The Girl of Fire & Thorns

Edited to add: I was absolutely remiss and thoughtless in not thanking Heidi Bennett of The Readiacs and Twilight fandom. Heidi was the one who pointed The Hillywood Show in the direction of my book, worked with them to make it happen, and arranged to surprise me. She is a passionate reader who has helped out a lot of authors in the young adult community. Thank you so much, Heidi.

Holy cow, you guys. I’m so excited about this.

Have you heard of The Hillywood Show? I’ve been a fan for a long time. Over 5 millions viewers worldwide have enjoyed their parodies and character impersonations of popular TV shows, movies, and even rock stars. Their parody of The Vampire Diaries had me rolling with tears of laughter. And this Lady Gaga impersonation is a masterwork of modern makeup.

So you can imagine how thrilled I was to learn they are branching out into the book trailer biz. To demo their mad skills, they decided to pick a book and create a trailer. And guess what? They picked my book.

They created this in total stealth. I opened my email one day, and oualá, there it was! It was the most amazing surprise ever.  I was completely blown away, not just at their generous nature and support of my book, but at the stunning production quality.

So here it is, an unofficial book trailer for The Girl of Fire and Thorns, with huge thanks to Hilly and Hannah Hindi:

I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

That was awesome of Heidi to reach out to The Hillywood Show and put this together for you, I know a lot of work was put into it on her part and it turned out great!! Kudos to Heidi for the planning and and to The Hillywood Show for the execution of it. If it wasn’t for her/The Readiacs, I wouldn’t have read this awesome book and recommended it to all of my friends. She definitely deserves a gift basket! All authors should be so lucky to have people who support and promotes them that much.

This is the first I’ve heard of these ladies but I’ll definitely be taking a look at more of their work. This trailer is absolutely amazing. It gave me chills.

And your book is absolutely amazing as well, Rae. I can’t wait for the second!

I seriously have chills right now – on my kneecaps of all places. I’ve been obsessed with the Hillywood’s vampire parodies and now this? I’ve gone to another place.

I love your book. But the trailer? Not so much. Girl is too skinny! AND Elisa is AFRAID OF HORSES and never caught on one under any circumstance! Just once I wish somebody would read the book and pay attention before making a trailer, a book cover…so many disappointing visuals for so many fabulous stories. But your book is indeed wonderful. Thrilled there will be a sequel.

I read the trilogy! I was so engulfed with the story I read all 3 books in 4 days! I am so sad it is over! You have done an amazing job! I will definitely be reading them again! You should look into making this a movie or tv series! I have fallen in love with this story.

I agree so much! Every one thinks they can make something perfect by reading the back of a book. We need readers, not actors.
