GIVEAWAY!–The Crown of Embers & Insurgent (now closed)
You guys. Your comments are amazing. Thank you so much. My to-read pile just grew to the size of Everest. A winner has been notified, but if I don’t hear back, I’ll pick another. Thank you thank you to everyone who commented. I’m so impressed with how much and how passionately everyone reads! Love, Rae
I just received advance readers copies for The Crown of Embers, which is a sequel to The Girl of Fire and Thorns that will be released in September. What’s a girl to do with such bounty? A giveaway, of course!
Embers is a much more romantic book than Girl. Slight spoiler: There is kissing. So, for a chance to win–and in honor of romance in young adult novels–please leave a comment telling me about your favorite literary romance so I can be sure it’s on my to-read list (doesn’t have to be YA!).
Sometime on Friday, (aka when I drag myself out of bed) I’ll do a random number generator thingy and pick a winner. I’ll accept comments here, on my Facebook post, and on my Goodreads feed.
This is what I’m giving away: A signed ARC of The Crown of Embers. A signed hardcover of The Girl of Fire and Thorns. AND, because I’m feeling very generous and because I want EVERYONE to read this book because it’s THAT GOOD, my precious, precious ARC of Veronica Roth’s amazing Insurgent, which comes out May 1.
Winner take all. INTERNATIONAL.
So, comment away! What literary romances are absolute must-reads for me?
GabrielleApril 3, 2012 at 5:37 pm (11 years ago)
OMG! Awesome giveaway!! Thank you!
My favorite literary romance is Hazel and Augustus from John Green’s “The Fault In Our Stars.” (I want to cry thinking about it.) These two just captured my heart and soul and squeezed the life out of it. Their love story is genuine and real. It isn’t overdone or has a hint of phoniness. It’s quite perfect. It almost goes without saying that we all want and need an Augustus (or Hazel) in our lives.
DarbyApril 10, 2012 at 10:25 pm (11 years ago)
Awesome giveaway! My favorite romances would have to be Puck and Sean in “The Scorpio Races” by Maggie Stiefvater, and probably Matt and Kate De Vries in “Airborn” and its sequels. Aly and Nawat Crow in “Trickster’s Choice” and “Trickster’s Queen” are great as well.
DarbyApril 10, 2012 at 10:27 pm (11 years ago)
Sorry, I forgot before. Three words: “The Princess Bride.”
Kaitlin HakesSeptember 12, 2012 at 9:22 pm (11 years ago)
I love The Fault in Our Stars!!! Amazing and imotional book!
Marla @ Starting the Next ChapterApril 3, 2012 at 5:40 pm (11 years ago)
You should check out Tristan and Iseult! It’s one of my favorite romances and led the way for Romeo and Juliet. My favorite edition is the one by Joseph Bedier. It’s quite old, but my mom bought a copy for me several years ago and I loved it! Aside from that, the Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marillier has long been a favorite. What can I say? I have a weakness for Irish myth and legend. 🙂
DanielleMay 9, 2012 at 5:15 pm (11 years ago)
Oh good one!! I love all of those books. I think Liadan and Bran may be my favorite but they were all good. One that I really love is Tom and Polly from “Fire and Hemlock” by Diana Wynne Jones. It’s a modern retelling of Tam Lin and also Thomas the Rhymer according to amazon.
AmyApril 3, 2012 at 5:40 pm (11 years ago)
Awesome giveaway!! My favorite romance is Anne and Gilbert, I think because it was my first literary romance. I’ve read so many wonderful romance stories since then but none of them have been able to replace them for the number one spot.
Lis MockApril 3, 2012 at 5:48 pm (11 years ago)
Yes! How could I forget Anne and Gilbert? That is probably my all time favorite literary romance.
Lena MarstellerApril 3, 2012 at 5:40 pm (11 years ago)
What a great giveaway!!!! thank you!! I think Untraceable by S.R. Johannes is YA romance but it evolves murder… i loved it though! A Beautiful Dark is also a great YA romance.
E.C. MyersApril 3, 2012 at 5:40 pm (11 years ago)
If I could secure copies of both EMBERS and INSURGENT, I would finally have a shot at being popular!
My favorite literary romance? I kind of want to say The Time Traveler’s Wife, but that was a little sketchy, wasn’t it? I think I choose Will and Lyra from His Dark Materials.
RachelApril 3, 2012 at 5:41 pm (11 years ago)
Oh gosh, romance. I tend to read books with lots of death and violence, and any romance is just a nice side effect. BUT some of my favorite epic romances in books (that I can think of) would probably be Valek/Yelena in the Poison Study series by Maria V. Snyder, or going old school, (Bel)Garion/Ce’Nedra in the Belgariad/Mallorean by David Eddings, or….yeah, I’m drawing a lot of blanks right now. I love some romance, but very few make it onto my truly epic list.
Anyway, thanks for the contest, and sorry for the rambling!
pam steinkeApril 3, 2012 at 5:41 pm (11 years ago)
I’m a sucker for Romeo & Juliet…but since you probably already read that one I also really loved the “Grace” series by S. L. Neole. I know I mucked up the last name…Look up “Grace of Day”
Steve NagyApril 3, 2012 at 5:42 pm (11 years ago)
My daughter loved The Crown of Fire and Thorns and just finished it last week. She’d love the chance to get her hands on an early copy of the followup.
And Insurgent sounds interesting as well if the Amazon blurb is any indication.
JulieApril 3, 2012 at 5:42 pm (11 years ago)
YAY! Those ARCs must be GORGEOUS. Congrats!
My favorite romances? Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and the Boy Next Door, The Season, Between the Sea and Sky, Magic Under Glass and, of course, Pride and Prejudice. There’s tons more, but the romance isn’t nearly as prominent in those.
JennieEApril 3, 2012 at 5:42 pm (11 years ago)
Very tough question and an awesome giveaway! My current favorite YA literary romance is the one between Taylor and Jonah in On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. I don’t want to spoil anything in case it’s a new book for you, but these two form a bond amidst a world of grief and one of my favorite lines in the book is: ‘I’m going to know him the rest of my life.’
A.J.April 3, 2012 at 5:45 pm (11 years ago)
My pick too! Love that book & Taylor/Jonah.
KatieApril 3, 2012 at 5:43 pm (11 years ago)
I definitely recommend Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson and The Summer I Turned Pretty series by Jenny Han. Those are two of the best YA romances, in my opinion!
A.J.April 3, 2012 at 5:43 pm (11 years ago)
Love the romance between Taylor and Jonah in Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta! It’s intense.
Angel CApril 3, 2012 at 5:44 pm (11 years ago)
What a gorgeous set of books! I’d have to pick a not-so-popular book for my recommendation: The Scarlet Pimpernel. I’ve read lots of classics, but this one’s on par with Emma and Pride & Prejudice when it comes to subtle, poignant romance.
Lis MockApril 3, 2012 at 5:46 pm (11 years ago)
Deena and Kvothe in Patrick Rothfuss’ The Kingkiller Chronicle. I love the solid friendship building of their relationship and that Kvothe gives her space while treasuring the time he does get with her.
Christina (A Reader of Fictions)April 3, 2012 at 5:47 pm (11 years ago)
Pardon me while I try to stop drooling at all of the pretty books.
Anyway, my favorite literary romances (I can’t choose just one) have to be classics, because it’s hard to deny the magic of Jane Austen. Of course, I’m sure you’ve read or at least considered reading Pride & Prejudice already. Instead, I offer up to you today E. M. Forster’s A Room with a View. Both the movie and the book are completely amazing. The love may not be as sweep you off your feet (in the book) as some, but it’s just so realistic. Something about it gets me every time.
Sarah DearnleyApril 3, 2012 at 5:47 pm (11 years ago)
Thank you so much for this fab giveaway! My favourite Y/A romance was Richelle Meads Vampire Accademy Series. You just have to love Dimitri and Rose 🙂 Although Nicholas Sparks ‘The Notebook’ is a close second.
Natalie ClearyApril 3, 2012 at 5:48 pm (11 years ago)
Ahhhh thanks so much for the chance!!! My favorite romance at the moment have been Finding Sky and also Stealing Pheonix by Joss Strirling. They mightn’t be considered Romance but I loved the chemistry between the characters in both books. http://www.raecarson.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/smellie_groupjump.gif
SiobhanApril 3, 2012 at 5:49 pm (11 years ago)
My favorite romance has to be the Thorn Birds. Always has been, i see it as a classic that ever goes out of style!
LoApril 3, 2012 at 5:50 pm (11 years ago)
I am such a sucker for romance, and so the idea of choosing ONE book to name is VERY DIFFICULT, RAE. So, okay, I’ll offer two: one is a swoony romance that makes my heart all fluttery, and the other is my favorite romance in a book but the book is not at all swoony.
Swoony romance: right now I would say my favorite Swoon would come from Katsa and Po from Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Just… wow. So many authors do it well, though, so it’s really hard to choose. A very close second would be Finnikin and Evangeline in Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta.
Non-swoony but OMG SO TRIUMPHANT: Would be She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb. He’s my favorite author, and has been since I was in college. This book is so hard and so wonderful, and Dolores’ journey through the whole book is heartwrenching. The ending feels real and right and … sigh. SUCH a good book.
See how I make it into three? I HOPE I AM NOT DQ’d. *gives you cookies*
Cassie F.April 3, 2012 at 5:55 pm (11 years ago)
Rae, I ADORED Girl of Fire and Thorns–and it’s SO SWEET of you to do this giveaway for us fans. <333 And even if I don't win, I can't WAIT to read Embers. More romance? Yes please.
And speaking of romance…
A tie: Anne Shirley & Gilbert Blythe and Jane Eyre & Edward Rochester are among my MUST READ fictional romances. The fire, the tension, the PASSION. *fans self* I'm sure I will be just as enthralled with the romance you weave in Embers. Thank you again for this giveaway!
JanaApril 3, 2012 at 5:56 pm (11 years ago)
I have to say Lola & Cricket from Lola and the Boy Next Door. Love them!
Thanks for the giveaway.
VivienApril 3, 2012 at 5:59 pm (11 years ago)
My favorite is definitely Rose and Dimitri from Vampire Academy…..*swoon* Jenny Han’s summer series is another great one!!!!

MiriamApril 3, 2012 at 5:59 pm (11 years ago)
Oh! Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor; A Love Story Starring my Dead Best Friend by Erin Horner; Fire, by Kristin Cashore.
WarishaApril 3, 2012 at 5:59 pm (11 years ago)
I think the books of Cassandra Clare have wonderful romances in them. They’re YA books, but really addicting and loveable.
Another kind of romance novel I really, really liked was My Name Is Memory from Ann Brashares. Till this day I think about that book and wonder what happened with the characters in it.
Thank you for this giveaway!
DaisyApril 3, 2012 at 6:06 pm (11 years ago)
My favourite romance story is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, which is also my favourite novel of all time! Gotta love Mr. Darcy 😉 I also loved Anna and the French Kiss, Anna and Etienne are SO cute together! And as for a more adult romance: Sarah MacLean’s Love By Numbers series, these books are SO good! If you like historical romance you should definitely read them!
Thank you so, SO much for the beyond generous giveaway!! I loved A Girl of Fire and Thorns so much and I already pre-orderd A Crown of Embers 🙂 I can’t wait for it to be released!
sallysmurfApril 3, 2012 at 6:13 pm (11 years ago)
Excellent giveaway – I can’t wait for Crown of Embers!
This is a toughie and I wanted to narrow it down to one couple. Nightmare. In the end I went for Ethan and Lena in the Beautiful Creatures series. They are totally devoted to each other, totally selfless and totally meant to be together – Love!!
Alison HertzApril 3, 2012 at 6:17 pm (11 years ago)
Yay! I enjoyed Divergent and would love to win an arc of Insurgent!
Alyssa SooklalApril 3, 2012 at 6:28 pm (11 years ago)
<3 yay!!! I'd love The Girl of Fire and Thorns!!! And Divergent 😀 Thanks!!! you're so awesome 🙂
Alyssa SooklalApril 3, 2012 at 6:31 pm (11 years ago)
In my excitment, i forgot to leave some suggestions 😀
So, I would suggest Starcrossed by J. Angelini- that’s a romance if you’ve seen one 😀
Also, Die For Me by Amy Plum
AdeetiApril 3, 2012 at 6:31 pm (11 years ago)
Such pretty pretty covers! I’d have to go with a classic and say Gone with the Wind for my favorite romance. Weird southern racism aside, it’s got a feisty heroine and a dashing rogue of a hero who are so wrong for each other that it can only be right. Le sigh. Can’t wait to get my hands on these two new releases (ARC or no ARC)!
Shari LambertApril 3, 2012 at 6:32 pm (11 years ago)
Katsa and Po (Graceling)
Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth (Ummm, you know 🙂 )
Finnikin and Isaboe
Gen and The Queen of Attolia (Megan Whalen Turner — LOVE)
And since romance is my favorite I could go on forever, but…
So excited for this sequel and more romance!
Erica M. ChapmanApril 3, 2012 at 6:36 pm (11 years ago)
Ooo, this is a FANTASTIC giveaway!! I too loved GoFaT. HUGE fan. I was fangirling all over the place for that one. I’d love to read both books!!
Okay… Romance. I would have to say… Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is written so beautifully. I adore her voice and writing. I also love pretty much anything by Jennifer Echols. My favorite of hers is Going To Far!! Seriously, a must read for YA romance fans ;o)
Thanks for the giveaway!! <3<3
Liz (Midnight Bloom)April 3, 2012 at 6:37 pm (11 years ago)
I’m terrible at having to choosing favourites! My original answer would have involved saying a couple I’ve been shipping since the very beginning in Rachel Vincent’s amazing Soul Screamers series, but it’s a bit of spoiler for those who haven’t read the latest book… so I won’t answer with their names for now.
My favourite literary romances tend to be in paranormal/fantasy books because the stakes seem to be higher for them to be together compared to a contemporary novel. I’d probably go with choosing the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare and the Chicagoland Vampires series by Chloe Neill. For contemporary recommendations, I’ve always loved Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott and Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway! 🙂
SarahApril 3, 2012 at 6:42 pm (11 years ago)
WOOHOO!! I’m hoping to win this one, because waiting for books I know I’m going to love KILLS me. Random number generator, look my way!! (blows on dice)
The romance that has always stuck in my head, not necessarily in a good way, but definitely in a defining way, is Heathcliffe and Catherine in Wuthering Heights. The intensity and passion were extremely appealing to me as a kid, but they also taught me the dangers of giving in to those emotions. Strangely, they taught me to be more rational in love, to look for people who were capable of making me feel happy instead of just making me feel.
Favorite positive role model couple? Lissar and Ossin, from Robin McKinleys Deerskin. They’re both imperfect, broken people. But they fix themselves. They take positive action towards becoming who they want to be, and becoming the type of partners they believe the other deserves. It’s a beautiful, but dark and disturbing story.
Rae CarsonApril 6, 2012 at 3:07 pm (11 years ago)
Hi, Sarah. You’re my winner! Email me with an address for where I ought to send these books, and I’ll get them in the mail right away. raein2004(at)gmail(d0t)com.
(I loved Deerskin too. It’s one of my all time favorite books.)
SarahApril 6, 2012 at 7:19 pm (11 years ago)
Oh, YAY!!! Thanks so much, Rae! Sorry it took me so long to respond. I’m on the West Coast, and I’m a night owl. But address sent. And excitement started. Levels increasing as we speak… (this sounds a little naughty. Heh.)
Laurel LandauApril 3, 2012 at 6:44 pm (11 years ago)
Oh wow, this giveaway could not be more exciting! I am so pumped to Crown of Embers!! (and Insurgent too)
My favorite romance is between Katsa and Po in Graceling. Katsa is the exact opposite of so many lovesick teen girls in literature today. She’s strong, determined, and independent (a lot like Elisa!). When she loves Po, it doesn’t define her or change her life. But their romance is SO beautiful.
Thanks for the chance to win! 🙂
TristinaApril 3, 2012 at 6:52 pm (11 years ago)
My absolute favorite romance (right now) is Until I Die by Amy Plum. it’s…fantastic…
Gabriela NavarroApril 3, 2012 at 6:55 pm (11 years ago)
OMG!! this giveaway is too much!! *swoons*
Let’s see, literary romance, a must read “Anna and the French Kiss”, is definitely one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read, there’s so much emotion in it, and it’s so well written, you just fell in love in with.
It’s like the epitome of romance, just talking about it, makes me want to read it again!
sarabara081April 3, 2012 at 6:56 pm (11 years ago)
OMG this is an amazing giveaway!
It is hard to choose just one fictional couple to be my favorite but I feel like Augustus and Hazel in The Fault in our Stars touched me in a way that will stay with me always. There love story melted my heart and I will never forget them.
Kat VApril 3, 2012 at 6:57 pm (11 years ago)
My favorite romance was between Sayuri and the Chairman in the book Memoirs of a Geisha. Its not a traditional love story but I adore it none the less. I highly highly HIGHLY, recommend you read that book! You won’t be disappointed I promise! 🙂 Thank you for the generous giveaway!
Bridget HowardApril 3, 2012 at 6:57 pm (11 years ago)
I really like a lot of romance books, I read a lot so my favorite is always changing, but I would have to say at the moment it would be clockwork prince by cassandra clare.
TracyApril 3, 2012 at 6:58 pm (11 years ago)
I just finished THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS and oh my gosh, I can’t even tell you how much I loved loved loved this book. I would LOVE to get my hands on THE CROWN OF EMBERS!! 🙂
As for literary romance, hmm….
I’m a HUGE fan of Stephanie Perkins’ books
And I loved the romance in Born Wicked, by Jessica Spotswood
There are so many others, I can’t even think right now! 🙂
fishgirl182April 3, 2012 at 7:00 pm (11 years ago)
ooh i love kissing books! man i think my list would be too long because i read a lot of romance. obviously pride and prejudice holds a place in my heart. but if you want steamy fun, check out courtney milan’s new historical romance series, lisa kleypas’s hathaways series, and anything by nalini singh. i also loved the recent book obsidian by jennifer armentrout and anna and the french kiss. thank you for this giveaway!
Bunny CatesApril 3, 2012 at 7:02 pm (11 years ago)
Great Giveaway! I’m not really a fan of the romance, but I did love the RIVER OR TIME series by Lisa Bergren. Its def romance + timetravel. =)
SindaApril 3, 2012 at 7:05 pm (11 years ago)
So, it’s not a romance book, per se, but Tamora Pierce’s The Song of the Lioness Quartet is home to my favorite romance of all time: Alanna and George Cooper.
Ranneth YaegerApril 3, 2012 at 7:08 pm (11 years ago)
What an amazing giveaway! These are all on my To be Read list and not only are we able to win one of the books we get the whole package!! Thank you for this awesome giveaway!
Ranneth YaegerApril 3, 2012 at 7:12 pm (11 years ago)
I was so excited for this giveaway I forgot to write about the fictional literary romance. I love The Fault in our Stars and the relationship between Hazel and Augustus. Definitely a must read!
Jana @The Book GoddessApril 3, 2012 at 7:14 pm (11 years ago)

Thanks so much for the chance to win all of these amazing prizes!
Sara (The Hiding Spot)April 3, 2012 at 7:39 pm (11 years ago)
Graceling by Kristin Cashore, Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols, Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I could go on and on.
Seriously pumped to read THE CROWN OF EMBERS!
Jenna WilsonApril 3, 2012 at 7:49 pm (11 years ago)
I think the best literary romances are the ones that start off a bit rocky. I hate (well, not *hate*, but it’s not my favorite) when stories have that “insta-love” bit. You know what I mean? So I guess I would say I’m a big fan of the Elizabeth Bennet/ Mr. Darcy type romances. Those are my favorite.
P.S I LOVED The Girl of Fire and Thorns and I’m DYING waiting for Crown of Embers!!
Myrna FosterApril 3, 2012 at 7:51 pm (11 years ago)
I love “The Blue Sword,” by Robin McKinley. Thanks for the giveaway!
Dani NguyenApril 3, 2012 at 7:53 pm (11 years ago)
I adore Stephanie Perkins’ books – Anna and the French Kiss & Lola and the Boy Next Door. Her characters are so quirky and loveable. You can’t help but want them to have happy endings!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway! Can’t wait to read The Crown of Embers (and Insurgent)!
LizaApril 3, 2012 at 7:55 pm (11 years ago)
My favorite romance novel is called Island of the Swans by Ciji Ware. It takes place in Scotland during the early 1800s. Its about Jane Maxwell Gordon, who falls in love with her childhood sweet heart, Thomas Fraser, but finds out he was killed in America so she marries another man, the Duke of Gordon. She later finds out Thomas was never killed. The characters are amazing and the Duchess of Gordon is by far one of my favorite female characters. As an added bonus this book is based on an actual woman, Jane who was one of the most influential woman of that time period.
Jasmine StairsApril 3, 2012 at 7:59 pm (11 years ago)
I believe my favourite romance is still Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Blue Castle. It is just lovely and victorian and sweet and has the best of all happily-ever-afters.
And I love the romances in ALL of Patricia Brigg’s books, but they often take second place to the murder and dismemberment.
TracyApril 5, 2012 at 10:10 pm (11 years ago)
Ooohhh…I LOVE BLUE CASTLE!! I agree. One of the best romances EVER! 🙂
PreciousApril 3, 2012 at 8:01 pm (11 years ago)
Hi Rae! Thanks so much for this giveaway! Been dying to read your book since 2010. 🙂
My favorite contemp romance which also part mystery and part psychological is Forgoteen by Cat Patrick. 🙂 You should read it if you haven’t yet! 😉
midnightbloomsApril 3, 2012 at 8:24 pm (11 years ago)
My favorite literary romance?! GAH! The pressure! Well, I love Persuasion, Pride & Prejudice, and…oh heck, Jane Austen rocks. Period. Anne and Gilbert (Anne of Green Gables) are awesome. Evie and Lend from Paranormal are adorable and sweet. Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester are so messed up and tragic and wonderful. Jane and Vincent from Shades of Milk and Honey were sweet and charming.
BUT my favorite would have to be Sophie and Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle. *sigh* Best. Book. Ever.
(ASIDE: I lovelovelove Girl of Fire and Thorns. It was wonderful! I can’t tell you how much I loved it without this comment becoming really long and including a lot of embarrassing fangirl squeeing and gushing on my part. Since I don’t think either of us want that, I’ll just say thank you for writing a heroine who was fat and beautiful and insecure and strong and capable. And I can’t wait for Crown of Embers!)
CaseyApril 3, 2012 at 8:46 pm (11 years ago)
My favorites are any of the ones written by kristan Higgins. Easy and fantastic!!!!
keriApril 3, 2012 at 10:40 pm (11 years ago)
You know, this is going to be a bit unusual (maybe), but it’s Jacky Faber + Sailing Ships. I know, I know, technically the romance in the Bloody Jack series is between Jacky and Jaimy Fletcher, but let’s be honest – Jaimy’s not good for much other than a constant source of tension and drive to continue the story. It’s nice, but nothing like the passion Jacky has for her ships. 😉
I’m only a little bit joking, too. I realized that a lot of the literary romances I love aren’t really romantic, or aren’t happy endings, or I don’t like them because of “romance” but because of the way the relationship works with the characters and shows growth – I mean, there’s NO WAY Catherine + Heathcliff is a happy romantic affair – it’s destructive and abusive and just horrible. But I really love that book. And I love Jane Eyre to pieces, but I can’t really say that the Jane + Rochester romance is a very good example – it’s also fraught with problems and not at all an ideal. (My next example is going even farther back in history to Eliza Haywood’s Love-letters on All Occasions, which has some great examples of romance from the 1740s, but, again, not really romantic? but I love them! Fantomina is also great, but totally not like a “romance” at all – i love it because it’s super feminist for the 1720s, at least how we think of the 1720s now.)
I’m super excited about Crown of Embers! I can’t wait to read it!
Ashly F.April 3, 2012 at 11:36 pm (11 years ago)
As of late I’ve enjoyed Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay, The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell, and A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Collins.
Thanks for the giveaway!!!
Susan LightApril 3, 2012 at 11:55 pm (11 years ago)
Loved the slow burn build up in Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. But I cannot wait for The Crown of Embers because I just know that Elisa is going to end up with Hector, I hope! That girl Ned’s a little happiness.
KatieApril 4, 2012 at 12:16 am (11 years ago)
My favorite literary romance would either be Hazel and Augustus from The Fault in Our Stars, or Anna and Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss.
Thank you for the awesome giveaway!
Katie BApril 4, 2012 at 12:30 am (11 years ago)
Wow, books I totally want! Thanks so much for the giveaway!
But how am I supposed to say just ONE? I’m gonna cheat and list a couple. :]
The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan–I love the fact that Annah ends up with Catcher. I never liked him with Gabry. And I love Annah’s badass tendencies. She’s my favorite heroine of the trilogy.
I feel like this should be fairly obvious: Peeta and Katniss, though not from The Hunger Games but from Mockingjay. I feel like their love is so much more real in that one.
Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre. LOVE THEM.
Anyway. Thanks so much again!
Rachel @ Read. Write. Ramble.April 4, 2012 at 1:12 am (11 years ago)
Wow, what a difficult question! 😀 At the moment, if I had to pick just one romance, it would be Hazel and Augustus in The Fault in Our Stars. I love how simple and realistic and absolutely perfect their relationship is.
I cannot wait to read The Crown of Embers!
Trista RoddickApril 4, 2012 at 1:20 am (11 years ago)
I’m so excited for The Crown of Embers. I’ve told everyone I know to read The Girl of Fire and Thorns.
Favorite romance…so hard to choose. I love Ash and Meghan in Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey series and Dez and Kale in the Denazen series by Jus Accardo. I also absolutely love the couple of Finnick/Annie in the Hunger Games even though they were never on the forefront of the story. Their romance really touched me.
Erin WApril 4, 2012 at 1:28 am (11 years ago)
What an incredibly difficult question! haha. There are many loves I personally love in books but my favorite literary romances (I can’t seem to choose just the one) would have to be classics of Wuthering Heights, Tess of the D’urbervilles and Little Dorrit. Those titles may not be your necessary sweet romances or your general romantic storylines because they can be a little depressing at times but overall amazing . . . but with the loves displayed in those novels . . . the concept of love comes with a lot of sacrifices and consequences in the lengths you would go to protect that love and in those three titles there are many consequences.
Thanks for the giveaway! *groupjump*

Yay! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
Hmm… my favorite romance would have to be with Tessa and Will and Jem in The Infernal Devices, Amelia and Nathaniel in The Vespertine, Ellie and Will in Angelifire…
So excited for Crown of Embers!
EJApril 4, 2012 at 2:13 am (11 years ago)
The Crown of Embers AND Insurgent? This may very well be the best giveaway ever!
My favorite literary romance…so hard to choose! For YA: anything by Meg Cabot (especially 1-800-Where-R-You series) and The Mortal Instruments/The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare (Clary and Jace! Will and Tessa!). In the mood for a tear-jerker? Any Nicholas Sparks book. The Last Song and A Walk to Remember are my personal favorites. And, of course, no favorite literary romance list would be complete without Pride and Prejudice!
Thanks! Can’t wait for Crown of Embers!
Jill T.April 4, 2012 at 2:26 am (11 years ago)
I highly recommend “North & South” and “Wives & Daughters,” both by Elizabeth Gaskell, who is the Victorian equivalent of Jane Austen (though Gaskell includes discussions of both industrialization and the lower classes in a really interesting way).
Or, if you’re looking for something current but still more literary, I loved “Heart’s Blood” by Juliet Marillier (a unique historical retelling of Beauty & the Beast) or “The Scorpio Races” by Maggie Steifvater.
I just have to say that “Girl of Fire and Thorns” was my absolute favorite read of 2011 and I have been recommending it to everyone I know. Thank you so much for writing such a strong, detailed novel about a truly beautiful woman.
KalApril 4, 2012 at 3:16 am (11 years ago)
Definitely ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins. Best friendship-romance ever. And it’s in Paris. AND it’s in Paris. And you will fall in love with Anna and Etienne St. Claire who, despite their faults, are so realistic and wonderful.
I recommend it, highly.
Gabriella MApril 4, 2012 at 4:01 am (11 years ago)
A question like that needs more than one answer 🙂
Cat and Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series
Anne and Edward from Posie Graeme-Evans’ War of the Roses series
Mercy and Adam from Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series
Clary and Jace from Cassie Clare’s TMI
Clara and Tucker from Cynthia Hands’ Unearthly series
Thea and Arius from Kate Quinn’s Mistress of Rome
Thank you for making it international! I am so looking forward to Crown of Embers!!
HE GryphusApril 4, 2012 at 4:14 am (11 years ago)
Old school I’d have to say Anne Elliott and Captain Wentworth. More modern would be Adam and Mia from Where She Went.
Mariana NavarroApril 4, 2012 at 6:51 am (11 years ago)
A must read romance is “Mistress Wilding” by Rafael Sabatini, is an absolutely fantastic swashbuckler that I’m sure you’ll like!! I loved the story!!
ImoApril 4, 2012 at 7:44 am (11 years ago)
I actually can’t wait to read both of those books, all the ARCs look gorgeous.
It’s so hard to choose, but perhaps my favourite literary romance would have to be Sophie and Howl from Diana Wunne Jones’ Howls Moving Castle, i LOVE that book!
Thanks for the contest 😀
Carina OlsenApril 4, 2012 at 11:11 am (11 years ago)
YOU ARE THE BEST! <3 This is the most awesome giveaway. See, Divergent is my favorite book and I am dying to read Insurgent 😀 Plus I just ordered your book yesterday 😀 So I would love love love love a signed copy of it and an ARC of book two. <3 Thank you 🙂 I haven't read any romance books.. I mean, I read only YA books (A) And most Dystopia books. But I do think Graceling by Kristin Cashore has the best romance. <3 I just adore that book.
terry johnsonApril 4, 2012 at 11:55 am (11 years ago)
wow! What a giveaway! Can’t wait to read this! And an added bonus of Insurgent. Awesome.
My favourite might be from Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. The whole series with Elana and Clay. Love it.
shravyaApril 4, 2012 at 12:57 pm (11 years ago)
I DO have a couple of favourite romances(as I am a romance and fantasy junkie),but the this one book I’ve read recently was just truly wonderful-FROI OF THE EXILES.Although it is not a traditional romance, the relationship between the lead characters was heartbreakingly beautiful and tear worthy in equal parts.SO,it is a definate To-Read for you!
Debbi Michiko FlorenceApril 4, 2012 at 3:12 pm (11 years ago)
Ooh! What a great contest! YAY! I can’t pick just one but here are a few of my favorite literary romances:
Anna & St. Claire in Anna & The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins;
May & Pete in The Key To The Golden Firebird by Maureen Johnson;
Ginny & Smitty in The Only Alien On The Planet by Kristen D. Randle;
Kaye & Rioben in the Tithe series by Holly Black
Can’t wait to read the next in your fabulous series!
Kellie ShawApril 4, 2012 at 5:15 pm (11 years ago)
I would have to say that my favorite love story would have to be the one between Callie and August from Illuminated by Erica Orloff it was a short read but it keeps you guessing throughout. I would have to say that these would go for really good romance reads : Puck (Katie) & Sean, The Scorpio Races By Maggie Stiefvater and Wendy & Finn, Wendy & Loke, The Trylle Trilogy By Amanda Hocking.
Amanda F.April 4, 2012 at 6:12 pm (11 years ago)
Great Giveaway! I recently read Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor and thought the romance in it was amazing. A seriously beautiful written book.
Amanda F.April 4, 2012 at 6:33 pm (11 years ago)
Not trying to enter twice… just thought of a few more
I thought The Night Circus had a beautiful, although slightly less conventional, love story. And recently I loved the love story in Everneath by Brodi Ashton.
Julie JohnsonApril 4, 2012 at 9:37 pm (11 years ago)
Sophie and Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle 🙂 Fantastic givaway… hope I win!
CatheeApril 4, 2012 at 10:32 pm (11 years ago)
I’d KILL to win this! *evil* I WANNA WIN! I LOVED DIVERGENT SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
Sarena TApril 4, 2012 at 10:49 pm (11 years ago)
I have a few of them (sorry, I couldn’t narrow it down to just one):
Scar and Rob in Scarlet by AC Gaughan
Grace Brisbane and Sam Roth in The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater
Deryn Sharp and Aleksander of Hohenburg in Goliath by Scott Westerfeld
Jessica @ The Midnight BookwormApril 4, 2012 at 10:50 pm (11 years ago)
I think my favorite romance is Cammie & Zach from Ally Carter’s Gallagher Girls series (plus there’s spies, so romance + secrets & mission = FUN times)
Thanks for the amazing giveaway! The Girl of Fire and Thorns sounds awesome, and I have yet to read Divergent, but I’m starting it next week and have heard (obviously) nothing but amazing things about the series so far, so having Insurgent would be AMAZING!
Jessica @ The Midnight Bookworm
DizneeeeApril 4, 2012 at 11:00 pm (11 years ago)
Oh, holy wow!
One…OK…TWO books, really that you have to read, if you haven’t are Gayle Foreman’s If I Stay and Where She Went — Adam and Mia. Heartbreaking, yet yay for the looooove!
Also, very swoon-worthy, are Alex(andria) and Aiden from Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Covenant Series: Half-Blood and Pure (so far). Forbidden love, but their seems to be steam coming from the pages when they’re together. Love, love, love that series so far and I’m rooting for them to be able to be together at the end of the series!
DizneeeeApril 4, 2012 at 11:01 pm (11 years ago)
My mind was trying to say two things at once…”their” should be “there”!!! Doh! Ugh ugh ugh!
Chloe RussellApril 5, 2012 at 1:47 am (11 years ago)
My favorite romance would have to be Meghan and Ash from “The Iron King” this is a series, but within pages I was hooked! One of the best I’ve ever read and in the past 3 years I’ve read over 2000 books. I love how Julie Kagawa spins a web around the reader and catches you within seconds
Gilda HolguinApril 5, 2012 at 3:23 am (11 years ago)
My favorite literary romance is Jane Eyre. The love between Mr. Rochester and Jane is both beautiful and heartbreaking.
Amber NasekosApril 5, 2012 at 3:30 am (11 years ago)
I think my favorite romance books would have to be the Vampire Academy with Rose and Dimitri and I also love the Spell of a Highlander by Karen Marie Moning!!! She does a lot of really great romance books along with rachelle mead and the vampire academy books.
PaApril 5, 2012 at 3:32 am (11 years ago)
My favorite literary romance is “The Swan Maiden” by Jules Watson.
AWW, can’t wait to read the crown of embers!! and thanks for this give away ^^
Alexa O.April 5, 2012 at 9:41 am (11 years ago)
Whooooooo, the cover of CROWN OF EMBERS is really AMAZING on that ARC!
My favorite literary romances include….
– Sydelle Mirabel & Wayland North. So perfect. (Brightly Woven) *sigh*
– Theseus Cassio Lowood aka Cas & Anna Karlov aka my most favorite homicidal ghost EVER: Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna Dressed in Blood)
– Lady Amalthea aka the last unicorn & prince Lír. SO sad. (The Last Unicorn)
– Finnick & Annie. Also so sad. (Catching Fire / Mockingjay)
– I know they aren’t available in English, but: Nihal & Senna from Cronache del Mondo Emerso. Those guys made me cry as well.
– I know it’s such a cliché, but: Lizzie Bennet & Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
Yes, I know I have a weak spot for the sad ones….
SionedApril 5, 2012 at 11:15 am (11 years ago)
Wow! Thanks! I’d die to get both of them 😉
Probably my favourite is the romance in The Lady in the Tower by Marie Louise Jensen; that’s been one of my favourite YA books ever since I started reading YA! And the romance is amazing, of course.
Diolch yn fawr! 😀
Annabelle HApril 5, 2012 at 11:55 am (11 years ago)
Hmm, Thats a tough question!
Yelena and Valek from the Study series by Maria V. Snyder.
Tessa and Will from The Infernal Devices By Cassandra Clare.
Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins!
Rachel B.April 5, 2012 at 1:03 pm (11 years ago)
One of my favorite romances is Fire and Brigan from Kristen Cashore’s Fire. The romance is slow and she takes the time to make it bloom across the pages. Also, I would have to say Daemon and Jaenelle in Anne Bishop’s The Black Jewels Trilogy. Their romance is one that can sustain through anything.
JuhinaApril 5, 2012 at 1:56 pm (11 years ago)
OH WOW!!! I am DYING to get my hands on INSURGENT and WOW! I LOVE the cover for The Crown of Embers! I CANT WAIT TO READ ITTTTT. The Girl of fire and thorns broke my heart but I’m ready for mooorrrre! thanks for the giveaway!! (i already have a signed hardback of The Girl, but i’ll definitely find it a good home if i win <3 )
as for my favorite literary romance, it is definitely pride and prejudice by Jane Austen <3
RachelApril 5, 2012 at 2:59 pm (11 years ago)
I love Anne and Gilbert. I love the idea of being friends with someone for so long and then realizing that you fell in love and didn’t even know it…
Constance B.April 5, 2012 at 3:00 pm (11 years ago)
Hmmmm favorite romance. I would say Romeo and Juliette, but they died. That made me sad. So instead, I am going to say…Little Women. Both Jo/Bhear and Meg/John Brooke were just so wonderful and…natural. It’s hard to find romance that feels completely organic sometimes.
Thanks for doing the giveaway. ^_^
TiffanyApril 5, 2012 at 3:11 pm (11 years ago)
Alot of times my favorite romance is the one that I am currently reading… but stories that have stuck with me over time were the following:
Marcus and Haddassah (Mark of the Lion series)
Olivia and Jai (in “Olivia and Jai”)
Ian and Wanderer (“Host”)
Jane and Mr. Rochester (“Jane Eyre”) – I especially liked this one because even though she loved Mr. Rochester with all her heart, she stayed true to herself and her convictions.
Thanks for sharing the wealth (of your awesome books)!! 🙂
KeliaApril 5, 2012 at 4:52 pm (11 years ago)
I so want these books!! There are way too many romances to just choose one, so I’ll just say one of my recent favorites– Sean and Puck from The Scorpio Races. Love them!
AliciaApril 5, 2012 at 7:24 pm (11 years ago)
Wow! Talk about an amazing giveaway that I am really hoping I win! My favorite literary romance would have to be Kate and Vincent in Die For Me by Amy Plum. Their relationship (and the book) is very swoon worthy.
GillyApril 5, 2012 at 8:07 pm (11 years ago)
A current favorite romance is Finnikin of the Rock and Evangeline. Such questions of sacrifice versus love plague them!
Can’t wait for Crown of Embers!
Lynsey NewtonApril 5, 2012 at 9:32 pm (11 years ago)
WOW, this is an amazing contest and thank you so much for making it international!!!
It’s a really tough question to answer but I’m going to go with Tristan and Scarlet from ANEW by Chelsea Fine. You should definitely check that book out as I absolutely love it (it’s YA too)
RachelApril 5, 2012 at 9:37 pm (11 years ago)
Oooh, this is a tough one, there are so many good ones!!
I do really love the relationship between Tris and Four, from Divergent, but that seems like cheating since Insurgent is one of the prizes, so I think I’ll have to go with… Po and Katsa from Graceling… and Beka and Farmer from Mastiff, which is actually a bit of a massive spoiler, but oh well.
Also, Hazel and Augustus from TFiOS- so many feelings!!!!
RachelApril 5, 2012 at 9:40 pm (11 years ago)
Also, Robin McKinley’s Spinlde’s End is FANTASTIC!!! I really like how that one ended up
AllisonApril 5, 2012 at 9:46 pm (11 years ago)
Oh yes, Po & Katsa! How could I forget those two 🙂
LouisseApril 5, 2012 at 9:41 pm (11 years ago)
One of my favorites is The DUFF by Kody Keplinger. Very cute and sweet story.
nicole tApril 5, 2012 at 9:42 pm (11 years ago)
Marsha Canham wrote a two part historical romance. The Pride of Lions is the first one and The Blood of Roses is the second part. You’ll cry.
Also, she wrote her own Robin Hood series. You should check that out too.
And if you want something light and perfect for a lazy, coffee drinking, rainy kind of day, anything by Julia Quinn is great.
RavesApril 5, 2012 at 9:42 pm (11 years ago)
I really loved The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It doesn’t have too much romance but it’s a lovely read.
Kristilyn RobertsonApril 5, 2012 at 9:44 pm (11 years ago)
Lately, my favourite romances have to be Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. They’re just so sweet!
However, I really need to read one of those ultimate romances like The Princess Bride … Thanks for asking this question – now I’m making a list. 🙂
AllisonApril 5, 2012 at 9:45 pm (11 years ago)
Oh dear! Just one? I suppose if I MUST limit myself, I will go with Noah & Mara from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. I mean, they are literally life and death together. Plus, Noah is a very, very hot boy. *swoons*
But if I could just add a few more, Etienne St. Clair & Anna in Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, Tris & Four from Divergent, Jane & Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre, and I best stop there… 😉
Gem AApril 5, 2012 at 9:45 pm (11 years ago)
Stephanie Perkins’ books are really good! Sweet and adorable. Lola and the Boy Next Door is my favorite so far. 🙂 Kody Keplinger also writes really good Contemprary.
Raquel JohnApril 5, 2012 at 9:47 pm (11 years ago)
Thanks for the awesome giveaway. I would have to say my favourite romance would have to be the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie is definitely one of my book husbands.
GerApril 5, 2012 at 9:48 pm (11 years ago)
Best to stick with the classics; Pride and Prejudice! Any of Jane Austen’s books are a huge YES. But I also really like Kody Keplinger’s books as well as John Green’s. 🙂
Terri M. MooreApril 5, 2012 at 9:54 pm (11 years ago)
Literary romance….I have two. If we’re talking classic literature that would have to be Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester. Modern lit. would have to be Graves and Dru from Lili St. Crow’s Strange Angels series. They have such a great dychotomy and are awesome characters in and of themselves.
SoulApril 5, 2012 at 9:58 pm (11 years ago)
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson is a lovely book. I laughed and cried and the romance is SO cute.
JennaApril 5, 2012 at 10:01 pm (11 years ago)
My far and away favorites are a mixture of old and new. Hazel & Augustus from TFIOS left me wrecked. Anne & Gilbert from Anne of green gables was my first literary love 🙂 I also love the couple from the older ya title Scrambled eggs at midnight. ( now crossing fingers vigorously) 😆
RoxyApril 5, 2012 at 10:12 pm (11 years ago)
The Accidental series by Dakota Cassidy is a hilarious and romantic series. (Not YA but really enjoyable.) But if you want your heart strings to be pulled The First Time by Joy Fielding is the way to go. 🙂 I really like the fact that there’s going to be kidding in Embers since in Girl it focused more on Elisa’s evolution as a character. I hope that a certain someone will come back to… 😉 Thanks SO much for the giveaway. I’ve seriously been dying to read Embers since I finished Girl last September.
AmandaApril 5, 2012 at 10:15 pm (11 years ago)
Must-read literary romance—definitely Jane Eyre, Jane and Mr. Rochester. Just…*sigh* I’m finishing Girl of Fire & Thorns right now, and I’m LOVING IT! ^_^
LaurenApril 5, 2012 at 10:22 pm (11 years ago)
Meliara and Vidranic in Sherwood Smith’s Crown Duel. I love a historical fantasy novel with a kick-ass heroine AND hero and this novel absolutely delivers.
Thanks for this giveaway, very exciting …
SarahApril 5, 2012 at 10:33 pm (11 years ago)
My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares is possibly one of the best romances in literary history (at least in mine because I have not been fortunate enough to read everything the world has to offer). Daniel is gifted with the ability of “memory” allowing him to remember all his past lives when he is reborn, and he is able to recognize other souls from hist past lives. Lucy doesn’t know why she feels like she knows Daniel, but she is attracted to him despite the mystery.
This is a love story that spans centuries and continents and is literally never ending.
Megan BacchusApril 5, 2012 at 10:37 pm (11 years ago)
My favourite literary romance would have to be Megan and Ash’s romance in the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. As well as Helen and Lucas’ romance in Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. I love these romances because no matter what obstacles are in the couples way they overcome them together.
elenaApril 5, 2012 at 10:51 pm (11 years ago)
AHHH oh my gosh, this is the greatest giveaway!!! My favourite romance would be between Macy and Wes from Sarah Dessen’s The Truth About Forever. Poignant, realistic, and really gets to you.
Julia HodgeApril 6, 2012 at 12:18 am (11 years ago)
Thanks alot for this opportunity! i recently read Eona by Alison Goodman and the romance between Prince Kygo and Eona is rocky, confusing and sweet altogether. It makes you really feel for Eona and her situation.
PureApril 6, 2012 at 12:56 am (11 years ago)
I absolutely ADORED The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! The sexual tension there is INTENSE. Also Daughter of Smoke and Bone, both amazing books! 🙂 Of course Divergent also has a really good romance story in it. John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars is a beautiful romantic book too. Poignant and hilarious, it has everything!
Jessica ConleyApril 6, 2012 at 1:30 am (11 years ago)
Omg!! I can’t wait to read the sequel of both books!!! My favorite romance is This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen!!!
CamilleApril 6, 2012 at 1:40 am (11 years ago)
For classics, you have to read about Abelard and Heloise (Eloise). It’s very tragic. 🙂
Bri L.April 6, 2012 at 4:28 am (11 years ago)
Hmm…I was trying to think of my favorite epic fantasy or supernatural romance, but I had too many conflicting thoughts. So I’m going to go with my favorite literary romance since I was eleven–Princess Mia Thermopolis and normal guy (genius) Michael Moscovitz from Meg Cabot’s The Princess Diaries series! Their story is epic and involves the invention of a robotic arm to do surgery!
AmandaApril 6, 2012 at 4:36 am (11 years ago)
I am pretty much a sucker for any of the romances created by Jane Austen. Every time I read Persuasion I always get a little nervous even though I know what is going to happen!
JeanneGenieApril 6, 2012 at 5:09 am (11 years ago)
How very awesome of you for doing this giveaway! And I just have to say I am on edge waiting for Crown of Embers to come out: September 12th cannot come fast enough! Which it why the chance for an ARC is so amazing. (And I really loved The Girl of Fire and Thorns—it was the best book I’d read in a very very long time.)
But enough drooling.
I’ve been sitting here for like ten minutes trying to think….hmmm….well I LOVE The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot (Michael and Mia!). That would probably be my first choice. The two Princesses of Bamarre and Ella Enchanted (the book, NOT the movie) I would put on there, too, just because they were the first romances I ever read…And then I HAVE to put Stephanie and Ranger on there from The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, and Charlie Davidson and Reyes from the Charlie Davidson series by Darynda Jones (first book is First Grave on the Right).
As for contemporary adult romances (well, the last two are also contemporary adult but for the sake of transitions), Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas is a must–there is literally nothing not to love about it.
And who could forget Four and Tris? NOONE, that’s who.
I hope this list helps, Rae, and thanks again!
ThrouthehazeApril 6, 2012 at 5:52 am (11 years ago)
My favorite romance is Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy
mikiApril 6, 2012 at 9:12 am (11 years ago)
My favorite romance (the only one I like really). A classic, A Room With A View. By EM Forrester. And the movie is wonderful with Helena Bonham Carter.
Lisa LApril 6, 2012 at 11:42 am (11 years ago)
Definitely Divergent. The romance is awesome.
Vanessa CurmanApril 6, 2012 at 12:59 pm (11 years ago)
My favorite literary romances would be Magnus and Alec /Jace and Clary from the Mortal Instruments, and also Lena and Julian in Pandemonium.I couldn’t pick just one 😉
Anna P.April 6, 2012 at 1:45 pm (11 years ago)
My favourite couple in romantic literature is Mary and Dominic from Devil’s Club by Georgette Heyer.
Also Bella and Edward (of course!)
Natalia BelikovApril 8, 2012 at 1:28 pm (11 years ago)

Now to the romance part =9
There are way too many delicious romances in book, however I recently read Grave Mercy by Roben LaFevers and OMG!! if excellent!! it blew my mind and the romance is just beautiful and one of the best things in the book =D
Grave Mercy is a Historical YA romance with a strong scent of fantasy, so I am you will absolutely love it! Please read it!! If amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to read Crown! woohoooo! =D
Good luck to everybody ^_^ and Yay!!
Emma CamilleApril 9, 2012 at 12:26 am (11 years ago)
My favorite literary romance would probably have to be Emma and Knightley (and I’m not just saying that because she’s my namesake!), and all Jane Austen for that matter. But I love a summery romancey Sarah Dessen novel as much as the next girl…
<3 I am so excited to read your next installment! x
Amanda VigilApril 10, 2012 at 3:50 pm (11 years ago)
I think my favorite literary romance is A Discovery of Witches. It is so fun to read. I just started reading The Girl of Fire and Thorns and have to say I find it very entertaining. It was not what I expected at all. The book has definitely surpassed my expectations. I LOVE IT!!!
Leah LesterApril 11, 2012 at 3:43 am (11 years ago)
Well I’m super excited about this sequel to girl of fire and thorns! Some of my favorite YA romances are probably Mary and James in The Agency series, Fire and Brigan in Fire, Eragon and Arya in the Inheritance Cycle, Talia and Dirk in Arrow’s Fall, and Karou and Akiva in Daughter of Smoke and Bone. There are lots of books that I love that include beautifully written love stories but here are some of my very favorites! 😆
Payton BlodgettApril 21, 2012 at 4:46 pm (11 years ago)
OMG! 😆 I absolutely loved the book The Girl of Fire and Thorns and am dyeing to get th next book. I was searching the crown of embers when this website showed up saying give away for the three books. I thought it was coincedential that insurgent showed because I had just previously read divergent and I fell In love with divergent! 8) But a few of my most favorite romances were the Mortal Instrument series, Divergent, The Last Song, and to much more to name! If I don’t get the next book for the series I’m going to go ballistic!!! 😉
Memeee(:July 9, 2012 at 5:23 pm (11 years ago)
Favorite romance book is def. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE!!! I love the plot, characters, and how innocent their love is compared to today’s love. (if that makes any sense?) I also love Nicholas Spark’s books, I could lose myself in his books for hours and hours <3
JessicaOctober 17, 2012 at 4:45 am (11 years ago)
Ah!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED reading The Crown Embers. My heart was literally in my throat at the end when Ximena spoke up. I literally yelled NO out loud. Sadly my passionate exclamtion stopped nothing=/ ahhh I cant wait for the next one. lol This is the problem with getting a New Release book and finishing it in one night, you have to wait an entire year for the next one. Ahh the anticipation!! lol
I think one of my fav romance pairing would be Nick and Payton from Shallow(A Going Under Novel) by Georgia Cates. Their love is that pure love, the type of love we all want to have.

I love the League series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. In it, there’s a lost prince/assassin, a ballerina princess, a famous thief who’s the son of an evil man, a man who may or may not be gay, his childhood fiancé, a chef, a disowned ambassador, and many other fascinating people who are all different, and sarcastic. Also, the Dark-Hunter series by her is good (it has 24 books and is still being continued!). This one is full of different pantheons, different type of Weres (werewolves, werebears, bearweres, etc.). It’s also has a lot of Greek mythology and tales of Atlantis. It has a companion series about a 14 year old boy called the Chronicles of Nick. In that one, Nick is the bastard son of a stripper and a man in prison. His mother was his age when she had him and was turned out by her family. It’s about his story and how he found out about the paranormal world (zombies are so unexpected at times…).
I also recommend anything by Rick Riordan, and much of J. K. Rowling’s work.
I was honestly surprised when I found your book. I’ve only read The Girl Of Fire And Thorns so far and it’s been the first real book I’ve chosen of my own accord and actually liked. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to find Crown of Embers.

I am not positive the place you are getting your info, but great
topic. I needs to spend a while studying much more or understanding more.
Thanks for excellent information I was looking for
this information for my mission.
